When a good thing works: roll with it. If you are fortunate to live in or are planning on visiting the Okanagan in the interior of British Columbia, and privy enough to have attended the fabulous monthly event FruitCake in the past, then you best clutch your pearls and patiently wait for the best news you’ll hear all year. FruitCake is returning in May and producers are pleased to announce RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Tatianna is set to perform.
FruitCake is an LGBT club night series held monthly in the Thompson Okanagan. With featured performances by artists and drag queens from the region, FruitCake has welcomed almost 5,000 attendees since it began in January 2017.
FruitCake has begun to build a strong growth and budding reputation as a fun monthly night with great DJ’s and drag performances. Now, the event is excited to host two spectacular nights featuring Tatianna from RuPaul’s Drag Race, as a headlining act on May 10 and 11.
A true stand out and quite the notorious contestant on Drag Race, Tatianna starred in both season 2 and All Stars 2. Known for her “choice(s)” words, fishy look, and sarcastic attitude, Tatianna, who stands at 6’5” in heels, solidified a name for herself by not only being the first queen to be eliminated 3 times in total in both the All Stars and regular series, but she is the only queen to both win and lose Snatch Game.
Tatianna, who hails from and works in the Washington, DC area, lied on the Drag Race, application pretending she was 21 when she was really 20. Therefore, she is the youngest person to have ever competed on the show. No stranger to controversy on the show, lead the pack in All Stars 2 before being eliminated by Alaska. Tatianna is a true American sweetheart who can’t wait to bring a ferocity to FruitCake.
FruitCake is excited to have Tatianna that the two have combined forces to host a meet and greet as well as a live performance. The VIP Meet and Greet will be $55 with doors opening at 8:30pm, and the meeting of Tatianna, which includes a professional photo with Tatianna, from 8:45pm-9:55pm. General admission for FruitCake is $35 with doors opening at 9:30pm.
Hosted by local favorite drag queens, Sparkle and Freida Whales, May’s FruitCake weekend is going to be off the chain with special guest Tatianna—who is set to perform four numbers each night. Additional well-known drag queens from across the region in full-face at both events. The Kamloops show, May 10, 2019, will be at the Duchess Night Club. The Kelowna show, on May 11, will be held at Level Night Club.
