About a million people are descending on Toronto this week for World Pride. It is the single largest pride celebration in the world. To celebrate the significance and diversity, long time Toronto Pride partner and LGBT community supporter, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly are going to crowd-source footprints to create a giant 800 square foot rainbow gay pride flag.
“Since 1990, Barefoot has proudly waved a flag of support for LGBT causes, so creating a World Pride Barefoot flag at this historic event in Toronto is hugely symbolic,” said the original Barefoot brand ambassador, Randy Arnold. It will be an honour for our team of global ambassadors to carry it on parade day, celebrating the great strides that Pride initiatives continue to make on behalf of the LGBT community.”
Barefoot will crowd-source the massive parade flag at a unique creation station. Community members can leave a footprint that will be captured digitally and screened to a master graphic that will be printed on the flag inspired by the iconic rainbow pride image.
Festival goers can make their footprint until early on June 28 when the flag printing and production will commence to be ready in time for the pride parade. More than 50 brand ambassadors who represent Barefoot at over 250 pride celebrations around the world each year will carry the crowd-sourced rainbow gay pride flag.
