2020 Christmas holidays promise to be different because of the pandemic. As families and friends gather to celebrate, the need exists for safe activities that minimize the chances of virus infections. Here are some ideas.

Have a game night with a small group of close friends. You can also have a cocktail night or evening. Why not try a cocktail making contest too? The Holiday Mulled Wine can feature among the drinks of the night.

Alternatively, sample Christmas around the world through food and international dishes. Bottom line, get creative with your ideas, for instance, a Christmas costume party, pajama party, among a host of other indoor or outdoor activities like hiking. As for the accompanying drink, the Holiday Mulled Wine, here are the ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle cabernet sauvignon wine
  • 2 tbsp mulling spices
  • 1 tsp fresh orange zest
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Add all ingredients into a large pot. Warm over medium heat for 30 or so minutes. Do not boil the contents, or the alcohol will evaporate. Remove from the stovetop and discard mulling spices and orange zest. Serve in warm, sugar-rimmed mugs.
