For a sophisticated night out on a cold winter night, a Homestlye Citrus Martini is a perfect choice. PlusAs the long winter days slowly pass by, the thoughts of the holiday’s are but a distant memory. If you made New Year’s resolutions to eat healthier, exercise more, to spend less time on social media, and put more into your retirement saving plan, hopefully you’re still sticking with it this early on in the year. If your goal was to quit drinking, chances are that resolution is long out the window.

Drinking, like any other enjoyable activity, is best handled in moderation. Instead of committing yourself not to drink at all, it’s a better and more realistic option to commit to drinking responsibly. Going to a party or event without drinking is almost impossible, not matter how hard you try. Here are a few helpful tips to help get you through the night, instead of going on a bender and getting trashed.

Start the night off by having a couple of glasses of water, sparkling water, or other light non-alcoholic beverages, like The Resolution. After each cocktail or beverage, have a glass of water. Suggest to the bartender at the beginning of the night, when you arrive and order your first drink, that they insist on you having a glass of water at the bar, before they serve you another drink; make sure you tip well for this added service! Always plan a safe ride home, and before you go to bed, have another glass of water.

For a sophisticated night out on a cold winter night, a Homestlye Citrus Martini is a perfect choice. The premium spirits, mixed with fresh squeezed citrus and citrus preserves, and a hint of natural sweetener, will have you slowly enjoying these cocktails long into the night.

  • 1.5 oz Gin
  • ¾ oz Orange Liqueur
  • 1 tsp Orange Marmalade
  • ½ oz Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz Honey

Fill a martini shaker full of ice. Add in all ingredients. Shake well for 20 seconds, until the outside of the shaker begins to frost. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a fresh slice of orange.
