“Alexa, play RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9!” exclaimed Jaymes Mansfield, contestant from PRDR season 9. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, not to be confused with Madison, WI, as reported in other online publications, Jaymes is has all the personality and poise expected from a RuPaul queen. Though she only had a short stint on the hit gay competition tv show RuPaul’s Drag Race in season 9, Jaymes continues on perfecting her craft as a drag queen, social media content creator, and creative visionary for a new theatre show set to release later in 2019. 

Fellow contestants on RuPaul’s Drag Race have pointed out that Jaymes was one of the more reserved personalities on Season 9. Jaymes censored himself too much and didn’t fight to play the reality show games, finding himself in the bottom two, and being the first to leave the show in Season 9 after the lip sync against Kimora Blac. 

“The pageant was my episode, it was one of the worst ways to showcase a person,”said James in an interview with HomoCulture.While her time on the show was short, Jaymes was happy to be able to travel to new places like Australia and was able to grow her fanbase more. “My style of drag only got me booked once or twice a month.” 

While Jaymes has little interest in participating in a second chance / redemption season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, she sees more of an opportunity as an all-star competitor. “I feel I have a well-rounded skill set to be seen as a fair competitor on All-Stars, I wouldn’t need to learn any new skills,” James stated. 

“If I had not have gotten on season 9, I would have still been working on my social media presence as well as working a full-time job,” James explained. Content creators, contributing writers, artists, publications, all aim to bring and create original content without killing resources or being a replica of someone else’s format. Jaymes Mansfield believes that anyone who has crossed his social media and learned something from him he’s happy for them. 

“I like to spend my time seeing how I can incorporate drag” explained Jaymes. Aiming to break the mold and get more out Jaymes, Golden Girls and drag are the extents of Jaymes’ hobbies. 

Currently working on a one-woman show aimed for a Halloween 2019 release, Jaymes is keeping busy. The horror/gore film set will have theatrical appeal. 

“Be good at whatever you it is you decide to do,” was the advice Jaymes gave.
