Santa Claus is a festive icon who brings joy and laughter to people of all ages around the world. There are many myths about Santa, but one thing is for sure: he is real! Santa Claus is also known by many other names: Pere de Noel, Father Christmas, Jack Frost, and more.
There are many different types of Santa’s around the world. Some bring gifts on Christmas Eve while others come on Christmas Day and leave toys or candy for children. The gift-bringer can be male or female; some Santa’s visit just once per year while others may make multiple visits throughout the year.
Some Santa’s are more like elves than humans; they wear pointy shoes with red socks and pointy hats with white fur trimming around them (or sometimes no hat at all!). Other Santa’s wear red robes with fur trimming around them like those worn by monks in medieval times (but without the funny pointed hats). Still other Santa’s wear blue jeans and t-shirts with no hat at all.
Today’s Santa’s tend to be more conservatively dressed, but they still wear red or green suits, white gloves, and boots, as well as a bright red sash around their waists. They also continue to wear their trademark white beard under their red cap.
Nonetheless, whatever type of Santa you believe in, we can all agree that the real Santa Claus lives at the North Pole, which makes him Canadian!
