Proving that dating apps haven’t killed gay nightlife, SCRUFF is entering Vancouver with a bang on Saturday June 13 with SCRUFF Invades Vancouver.
Vancouver’s Big Roger Events has teamed up with the East Coast’s Pit Bull Events to bring a night of beats, sweat, and flesh at Vancouver’s FIVESIXTY nightclub. This will mark Pit Bull’s big entrance into Vancouver, bringing its experience in catering to a new generation of the gay community who are looking for inclusive events without labels.
Headlining will be drag artist, producer, and DJ, Nina Flowers (aka Jorge Flores Sanchez), made famous with her numerous appearances on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Coming to Vancouver just 3 weeks after Matinee Las Vegas, she’ll be bringing her unique ability to engage the audience with her house and her own club anthems. It’s not every day Vancouver hosts a DJ who holds residencies in so many cities including Denver, CO (For Tracks Night Club); Boston, MA (For Epic Saturdays); San Francisco, CA (For Gus Presents); and NYC (For Viva Saturdays); with ongoing appearances at Hydrate, Chicago IL, and Score Night Club, Miami Beach, FL; including many other clubs both nationally and internationally.
Also appearing will be NYC-based DJ Ben Baker with his fresh take on tech and tribal house that has made him one of the most sought-after DJs in North America. And rounding it up will be Vancouver’s DJ Quest, one of Vancouvers original house divas and currently one of 1181’s original resident DJ’s since the bar first opened.
It isn’t just the music you’ll be going for. There will be plenty for the crowd including:
- SCRUFF Giveaways
- Limited but ultra-coveted SCRUFF by Nasty Pig Giveaways
- Nasty Pig – On Premise to fulfill your orders (and desires)
- Many, MANY, other surprises
But the highlight of the evening will be Johnny Skandros, aka Johnny Scruff. That’s right, the man who founded SCRUFF, hooking up bears, jocks and guys next door over the last 5 years for coffee and beers, shags and marriage. He’ll be joined by fellow hosts Joey Scruff, Jason Scruff, and Nasty Pig’s Boss Hog David Lauterstein.
Vancouver won’t be the same after having this much talent in one space. On Saturday June 13th, come down to FIVESIXTY (560 Seymour St.) for a night of spectacular beats and hunks beyond your wildest dreams. Limited Pre-Sale Tickets are available for $20 at Little Sister’s Book & Art Emporium (1238 Davie St.) and Top Drawers (809 Davie St.) or online,
