It’s the holidays, and that means it’s time to celebrate. For heterosexual families, the holidays are a time to gather with friends, family, and loved ones. But what if you are gay?

Well, things tend to be a bit different. It’s not just about being with people who love and support you. It’s also about celebrating with people who understand your world.

Still, there really aren’t many differences in the way gays celebrate the holidays versus a heteronormative family. 

Here are a few ways in which they go about it:

1. Spending time with chosen family: Gay people tend to have more close friends and family members than heterosexuals, so it’s not uncommon for them to spend their holiday celebrating with those people. This can be a lot of fun, as it gives you the opportunity to spend time with the people who really matter in your life.
2. Creating memories and traditions: A gay Christmas is also about creating memories and traditions. In the LGBT world, things are done with style, and Christmas is no exception. Instead of Tinsel, plastic, and flashing lights, a gay Christmas will comprise ribbons, candles, plush greens rich reds, and winter colours – powder blues and icy whites. It is all about creating new traditions in a new era. 
3. Volunteering or donating to LGBTQ+ organizations: Many LGBTQ+ families choose to volunteer their time at local organizations and shelters during this time of year. This helps them feel like they are giving back to their community and contributing to something positive. It also gives them an opportunity to interact with other LGBTQ+ people who might be struggling with similar issues.  
4. Throwing bomb Christmas parties: Gay people have been throwing parties since the beginning of time, but they’re especially big this holiday season. From glittery drag shows to giant tree-decorating events can throw one helluva good holiday soirée. At a good holigay party, the Christmas caroling doesn’t stop and neither does the eggnog.And of course there will be signature Stoli Christmas cocktails like The Holigays cocktail to spice up the festivities.

Ingredients

• 2 oz Stoli Premium 
• ½ oz almond liqueur 
• 2 oz eggnog 
• ½ oz caramel sauce 

Shake all ingredients over ice. Strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon and allspice.
