The Watermelon Texas Margarita will make you change your mind about fruit. Watermelon, specifically. Ideally, you’re already enjoying plenty of slices of this water-rich fruit to keep you hydrated over the summertime. Now, getting it in your cocktail is just mind-blowing.
This margarita mixes beer and watermelon juice into a drink that redefines refreshing. It’s also super easy to make.
Blend pieces of watermelon until completely smooth. Strain or sieve the juice into a pitcher to remove the pulp. For the perfect drink, use seedless watermelons. You don’t want to be picking through seed pieces from your drink.
Next, add some orange liqueur and fresh lime juice to the watermelon juice and chill in the fridge for half an hour or so. If you like, you can add some tequila to the mix.
Top up the mixture with a pale ale when serving and stir it. Garnish with a watermelon wedge or a lime slice to complete your perfect summer drink. What is a cocktail without garnish anyway?
Ingredients
- 1 can pale ale beer
- 2 oz watermelon juice
- 1 oz orange liqueur
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
Fill a salt-rimmed highball glass with ice. Add watermelon juice, orange liqueur, and lime juice. Garnish with a fresh slice of watermelon and a slice of lime. Top up with a pale ale.
